Welcome to Mather Pre-med
For Mather seniors and alumni/ae planning to apply to med school, this site will be your guide to the med school application process.
If you're considering med school, the information here will help you make your decision.
Register as a pre-med
- Sign up for the Pre-Med mailing list. All pre-med correspondence after March 27th, 2012, will be sent via this list.
- Then, register for the Mather Pre-Med system. You will be assigned a non-resident pre-med tutor to help answer your questions and allow you to enter all the info needed to compile your Mather House Dean's Letter.
You MUST register if you plan to apply to med school this year! It's the only way we can keep track of who is applying -- and you can't apply without the House's help!
Obviously, registering does not obligate you to apply to med school! It's just a way of letting the House know that you're interested (however vaguely) in the pre-med advising system.

Pre-Med Time Table for AY 2013-2014
for applicants intending to apply Summer 2013 for matriculation into medical school in AY 2014-2015

| April 1, 2013 | All recommendation letters due to House Office!
* We recommend giving your recommenders at least six weeks advance notice to prepare your letter. |
| May 1, 2013 | GO EMAILS DUE to Mather House Website
AMCAS application opens * Please note that your House Committee Letter will be ready 6-7 weeks from the date you submit your GO EMAIL. No exceptions will be made to this policy, so please take this into account if you choose to submit your GO EMAIL later than May 1st. |
| June 4, 2013 | AMCAS application opens for submission |
| June 2013 | Submit AMCAS, and email pdf of *verified copy* of AMCAS application to premed.mather@gmail.com (takes 4-6 weeks for verification) |
| August 15, 2013 | House Pre-med Committee letters ready to be mailed to medical schools if file is complete by May 1. |
Alumni applicants should contact the House Premed Committee premed.mather@gmail.com or individual tutors (see contact info on Mather Premed main website), as soon as they know that they are applying in order to avoid delays in preparing their House letter.
*NOTE: Applicants who notify the House of their intent to apply after June 1, 2013 are not guaranteed submission of a House Pre-Med Committee letter. In most cases, medical schools expect this letter to be sent to complete the application.
